I passed by the movie theater near my apartment this morning and this was hanging up.
I guess I will make my way down to the Somerville theater and have a look-see.
Rebecca sent along the following pro shots of the recent Vultures show in Denver, CO. that I’m sort of just wishing I had gone to. I mean, I was right there on that side of the country, you know? Sheesh.
Here are a few photos. Click HERE for all of them.
Rebecca also sent along these photos of the guys signing the Denver TCV poster. The poster will be on sale at Jermaine Rogers’ website.
I really have to get one of these. I’ve said it before – I collect concert posters and I have a few by Jermaine. He’s amazing.
So how was your weekend? Because mine was kind of good.
I know you probably think that the highlight of my trip to Las Vegas was seeing the Vultures show and getting a few minutes to speak with Dave, but I gotta say – the entire randomness of the weekend can be summed up with my adventure at the airport the night we flew back home. That’s right. I hung out with THE Erik Estrada:
So damn random and crazy. We took a cab to the airport and I had to repack a few things before checking a bag when Veronica motioned next to me and there he was on his phone. He came over and introduced himself somewhat and asked us to “hide” him while he smoked. I can’t imagine who he was hiding from. No one else even looked in his direction. Later on in the terminal I ran into him again and he asked me to help him find his gate. Everyone relax. I got him on his flight to NYC so that he could begin some new campaign for Butterfingers candy bar. You’re welcome. That’s the kind of gal I am though – always helping out no matter who it may be.
Also, I’d like to take the opportunity to tell my hotel roommates once again how sorry I am for being the complete asshole on Sunday morning. Somehow the clock on my phone set itself back to east coast time when I was still on the west coast. I woke up suddenly (probably still used to east coast time) and was under the impression that it was 10am which was one hour before check out time (and the precise moment that the Hard Rock hotel would begin charging me $100 for every extra hour we were in the room). I ran through the room like a crazy woman yelling “GET UP! Start packing! We have an hour!” The reality was that it was only 7am. Let’s just say that I was not very popular that morning and was called some colorful names. I deserved it. Really. I am horrified at the thought of me running through the room grabbing clothes and stuffing them in bags. Yikes. Sorry girls.
Before I get to the photos from Las Vegas, I wanted to share this with you. From the most recent Rolling Stone magazine Issue 1103 / April 29, 2010 (American version with The Black Eyed Peas on the cover), 40 Reasons to get excited about Music. Reason # 8: (Click to enlarge)
I don’t know about you guys, but I’d be perfectly happy if TCV decided to hang around for a few more years. This is a lot of fun.
If you’re on Facebook or Twitter, you should really follow us on both because sometimes it’s easier to get things out there via those sites and you’ll get so much more information rather than waiting for me to update everything here. Facebook is especially easy for me to put out links to photos or videos etc. So make sure you sign up. Just a little FYI because I’ll be adding things here & there from this past week.
So here are a few photos from the show. You can see them all HERE. What a great time. TCV was on fire that night. What a great show! It was so good to finally meet so many of you that follow the website and put faces to names too. I really appreciate all of the kind words you had for me about the website. It really does mean a lot to me that you all take the time to visit here and give your input and contributions. Several of you sent me messages afterwards and said you had seen me, but didn’t want to bother me. Please don’t feel that you can’t approach me. I would love to meet you all and say hello. 🙂
Also, I was just kidding above about the highlight of my weekend being the whole Erik Estrada thing. Clearly it was seeing the show and Dave. What a great guy. Much love and respect to him always. And Jesus Christ, Josh Homme is tall. Very cool finally getting to talk to him a bit. Josh was amazing during that show. Thanks, guys!
If you were there and would like to share your photos, stories etc., send them in to me and I’ll get them posted. Leecy’s e mail
If you’ve been asking yourself, “What’s Dave been up to?” well recently he was at the premiere of the movie “The Runaways” in Los Angeles. Here he is with Joan Jett:
I have to admit I’m a little jealous. I’ve been wanting to see this movie and it would be kind of cool to meet Joan Jett too.
This photo is in the recent Rolling Stone Magazine Issue 1102 / April 15, 2010 with the cast of Glee on the cover (American).
James – who was lucky enough to see the Royal Albert Hall / Them Crooked Vultures show – passed along these photos to share with everyone. Thanks, James!! Sorry it took so long to get these on the site.

Maddie sent over this link to Dave introducing Anvil at the 25th Spirit Awards:
Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to my dear, sweet friend Megumi in Japan! Have a lovely day, sweetie!
Spinner.com has a backstage interview with the Vultures and if you read my blog about our Saturday Night Live adventure, you’d already know that the dress rehearsal was better than the live show. TOLD YOU. *grin*
And because I love you all dearly, here are a few photos. Story of my life.
Well, grab something to drink and that box of chocolates you received as I have a big update here.
Many of you have been asking about our Saturday Night Live adventure. A few friends and I hung out and got tickets and were lucky enough to get into the dress rehearsal. I’ll blog about our adventure because typing it up here would just take up too much space (I am known to sometimes get a bit wordy when writing). I’ll just say though that honestly, it was one of the cooler things that I’ve ever done and I have reasons for that which will go into the blog.
I will share a few photos here with you. Also, on the toolbar below, you’ll see a little icon on the left side of the page with a butterfly.. the pictures are there as well.
First, enjoy a small video clip of us hanging out in the wee morning hours in front of NBC. Emily will explain proper hat-wearing-in-the-cold etiquette. Please keep in mind we hadn’t slept much and generally look like a bunch of bums. Also, I sound like I am talking through my nose (cold). We cleaned up well though for the show Sat. Night.
Even though I *am* Team CoCo, I will say that it was nice of NBC to provide free soup in the evening and free coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels etc. to us in the morning.
And let me also say that yes, we got the ‘you guys are nuts’ comments from all over the place, but c’mon… where’s your sense of adventure? It wasn’t that cold out there. Seriously – a minor inconvenience for a few hours for a really great time at Saturday Night Live and we got to see Them Crooked Vultures play and also had the chance to see Dave in a skit! I would do it again in a heartbeat. FUN.
By the way, there was a concert on Monday after the Sat. Night Live show. TCV @ Roseland Ballroom. I took a few photos. I’ve decided that I’m not a great photographer and that the money I spent on this camera I purchased is money down the drain. Either that or Dave just moves so fast behind the drums that it is impossible for the shutter to capture anything. So I surrender. Meanwhile, here’s the link to my photos:
Quite a few of you have asked me about the birthday book (has Dave seen it? and who won the contest). I don’t have an answer to the first question. I hope so. As for who won? This little guy right here. Tyler. I had so many people tell me how cute and awesome this kid was, I had to just give it to him. The T shirt that I had for the winner was a bit big so when I was in New York, I picked up a smaller shirt with this graphic on it for Tyler. Dude, I hope you wear it in your school pictures next time.
I was hoping to get a chance to see Dave so I could get it (or anything really) signed for him too, but no such luck. Sorry, Tyler. I tried.
So I’ll see quite a few of you in April at the TCV Concert in Vegas. Should be a lot of fun. I have a lot of friends from Texas coming in for that show and my boss & his wife (who is a big Dave fan which works to my advantage ;-p Ok, not really) are also going. So I look forward to meeting so many of you that I have talked to through the website over the years. This is my first trip to Vegas so I’m really excited. I mostly feel sorry for Dave that all these freaks will be there harrassing him. Kidding. Mostly.
